Howdy,
My name is James Nelson—a curious mind, a traditionalist with a rebellious streak, and a lover of science. For all intents and purposes, I am the creator of this blog you see before you. As the name suggests, here you will find raw and unfiltered opinions and thoughts. This is a general-themed blog, which means there isn't any one specific niche; instead, there will be a vast selection of subjects that will likely change from post to post.
This isn’t your typical blog. Here, I share my thoughts on everything that sparks my interest—from cryptography to the games I love to play, from personal rants to science. Expect honesty, sarcasm, and a dash of snark because I believe in being real, not polished.
This personal blog is a reflection of who I am—a traditionalist with a rebellious attitude, who loves to think outside the box and question everything. Sometimes I’ll be serious, sometimes I’ll be snarky, but above all, I’ll be authentic. I despise fakery and the fake personas many hide behind. Instead, I celebrate individuality, critical thinking, and a refusal to accept the status quo. Whether I’m discussing complex code, a wilderness adventure, or just venting about modern society, my goal is to provoke thought, entertain, and maybe even challenge your perspective.
**Authenticity and Rawness Unbound**
Most refer to me as eccentric, which is just a polite way of saying I’m a fucking weirdo. I am from the homeless capital of America—California. As a native of the Golden State, I’ve been oversaturated with all kinds of indoctrination and propaganda from every side. Somehow, I’ve risen above it all and found my own way. Most of my days are spent doing a variety of things, as I’m an epic multitasker. Whether it’s experiments, math, science, or something else, I can usually be found doing something dull but nerdy.
In a past life, I photographed public safety incidents—accidents, crime scenes, fires—in the San Francisco Bay Area. Actually, I still do sometimes; old habits die hard! Before that, I worked various jobs in the electronics industry as a temp, mostly in production and warehouse environments, picking up experience and knowledge along the way.
I was born rare at birth, have a history of anxiety, and am a lifelong member of the OCD club. I cavort with stuffed animals; it started as a comfort thing initially, but eventually I found respect for inanimate objects. I enjoy classical, folk, and hard rock musical genres. I can’t draw or paint to save my life, and I have a fascination with strobe lights.
**Transparency is Key**
As a personal blog, I don’t believe monetization is appropriate; therefore, you will never find advertisements or sponsorships of any kind on these pages. The subjects I discuss may sometimes seem boring, dull, or insignificant, but they are important to me. I believe monetizing them would diminish their impact and, more importantly, stifle my voice. Without ads or sponsored content, I can be more direct—free from third-party influence over what I can do or say.
Likewise, with affiliations and donations—everyone wants money, to become rich and live the lifestyle. Not me. I earn what I need to survive and keep going. James Nelson Raw does not exist to generate income; this is my personal space to be myself and enjoy the satisfaction of doing things my way—without selling out for a few bucks.
Regarding merchandise and memberships (paid)—I see the potential value in having these down the line. Charging for access might make my life more comfortable, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record and hurting myself financially—hard pass. Any links I provide here will be free of any monetary gain. Any suggestions or recommendations will be based solely on my genuine experience and interest.
